What happened
Bain Capital and Tillman completed their $1.5 billion investment in Eaton Fiber, alongside Eaton’s acquisition of Ripple Fiber. Eaton funds, builds, maintains and operates the network; Verizon is the exclusive residential and small-business retail provider. Verizon also acquired most existing Ripple customers and certain network assets in North and South Carolina. The expansion plan targets more than one million locations. The $1.5 billion is the Eaton investment—not a separately disclosed Ripple purchase price.
